The release of Starlette 1.0 marks a significant milestone. Despite its relatively low brand recognition, Starlette is one of the most widely used Python frameworks, particularly as the foundation for FastAPI, which has garnered considerable attention in the developer community. Since Kim Christie began developing Starlette in 2018, it has quickly become a standout among the new generation of Python ASGI frameworks. Although the author did not use it as the basis for the Datasette project due to stability concerns, the future prospects for Starlette remain promising.
