When routing across multiple large language models (LLMs), users often encounter issues with inconsistent context windows. Some models can handle extensive conversations, while others may truncate important information or even hallucinate. To address this, Backboard.io has introduced Adaptive Context Management, a system that automatically manages conversation state when switching between models with varying context sizes. Users no longer need to manually adjust context windows, and this feature is available for free to those with keys from Frontiers or OpenRouter, while still providing access to over 17,000 LLMs on the platform.
